I'm from VA, but I'm in NY right now. We're military and I really need to talk to a live DMV represenative. I can't find any customer number. Is there a way to talk to someone from the DMV on the phone at all?

I called one number they gave me, but there was no way to speak with a person. It was all just recordings or whatever. I think I might have found another number, but I'll have to try it tomorrow. I hate the DMV!!

One of the ways to get past the automated answers and get a person is not to respond when they ask you to push 1 for this and 2 for that. They assume you are calling from a rotary phone and transfer you to a human.

Calm down.
Check first on your County website. Look it up on the net. If they don't list DETAILED info about the office, at least they will have a phone number.

Normally they are part of the treasurers office, the dept of revenue, or the registrar's office, depending on how your county/state does business.

Each individual state should have a web site with that information I would think. I,m from Illinois and it has that information as well as addresses of state facilities.
