Ok, jewelry and clothing would be too intimate....bath/spa baskets too generic and gift cards are impersonal. We have shared lunches over the past three years but she has remained just elusive enough to present problems with the gifting. Here's the vitals:
she is 30 y/o
divorced 3.5 years
recently out of 3 year relationship (hence the urgency)
has 6 y/o son
rents apartment

Once again, no jewelry, clothing, spa/bath kits or gift cards.
Thanks in advance.

What does she do in her spare time? What does she enjoy? Is there something she enjoys doing, something she'd love to see, or somewhere that she'd love to go and hasn't had the time or opportunity?

Does she have a favorite author or movie? Does she enjoy music, cooking, sewing/crocheting/knitting? Would she enjoy tickets to the theater, a sporting event, an upcoming concert? Does she enjoy specialty foods, coffees, teas, chocolates, etc.? Is there a special restaurant that she would love to try but hasn't had the opportunity? Is there a hobby she'd enjoy taking up, or a music instrument she'd love to learn to play? Music lessons and instrument maybe?

Take the time to discover who she is, what she enjoys, and then make it personal for her. She will know by the gift you choose that you've taken the time to get to know "who she is" and "what she's about", and I promise you it will make her feel special.

Good Luck; I'm sure you'll do just fine.

The perfect gift would be a day at a spa. These places are all over these days and beings shes a mom she could use some pampering. A nice massage a facial and even a mudd bath. Go for it!! She may even return from her day of beauty and give you a message of your own liking.. good luck..

Since she's a mom she probably spends little on herself so I (being a mom) would buy her something for her and if you want to take her and her son out that would be separate. Here are some great Holiday and Christmas gift ideas:

1. picnic backpack $60.00 with candles, cheese, fruit & goodies ~ that can be a special/romantic without it being over the top lunch http://shopping.yahoo.com/b:Sexy%20%26%20Single:784713455

3. Conair Massaging Foot Bath with Cord Keeper

This is an easy one! I would set up a day at the spa for her. Like a nice massage and maybe a facial. This would be very relaxing for her and would be like a mini vacation.

hmm thats tough maybe a puppie or a kitten, but she prob wont be able to being in a apartment. the only thing I can think of if you are dating????? how about a trip together and include her son depending on your financial situation either fly or drive or maybe a train trip for a weekend together that way you could get closer to her, it would be more of a gestor to her that you want to be with her not about a gift of value or material things. good luck with what you decide

Actuly since she is a mom...jus spend tim with her kid and her both..take both of them for some kiddy stuff and then have dinner at a normal place..wher you feel like a family diner outing and go for a lone slow walk..if u feel like buy her some thing small in size for her like a keychain..nothing expensive but some thing that makes her think you care that'll make her feel special.
