Your thyroid gland may be out of whack, producing less hormone (TSH), it could be lupus and your body responds to both of those by sleeping. If you are suffering from depression, excessive need for sleep is a common symptom. A third possibility is that you may have picked up mononucleosis and your immune system is down. The best way to know, is to see your doctor for a checkup. Thyroid and depression can be managed with medication.

Some people have these symptoms because they are not getting good sleep due to sleep apnea. It is a condition where you really are not getting enough oxygen and keep waking up trying to catch your breath. Has anyone every told you you snore loudly? Do you have some heaviness around your neck area? You might look into that.
