I think the sea level is already starting to rise, slightly,in certain areas. It will affect every coastline in the world.Flooding isn't the only concern, though.Famine and drought in other areas will wipe out a lot of people, and as temperatures rise, people will start dying from the heat.I doubt we'll have enough good air to breathe, either. However, the flooding will affect just about everyone, because people will start moving inland. It will get mighty crowded.
The people that say it's not a concern are the ones that don't want to do anything to change it.Just keep that in mind.Yes,a lot of people harp on it all the time.I'm one of them.I get sick of doing my best and watching everyone else go on like nothing is wrong. It would be great if nothing bad comes of it all,but why not try to be on the safe side?I'll stick with trying to cut back on pollution and cancer-causing chemicals.I don't mind a little extra effort.

1000000000 human beings in the international proceed to exist or close to a coast. some are prosperous, dwelling in sprawling properties, on an analogous time as some are undesirable, dwelling in humble shacks. yet worldwide warming does no longer discriminate. All properties placed in coastal factors would be plagued by making use of it. to no longer point out the alluring beaches the place we play volleyball, fly kites, construct sand castles, and surf. It has to do with growing to be sea levels. In different words, the conventional heights of calm seas will become larger. Already in the final a hundred years, worldwide sea levels have risen 8 inches (20cm). 0.5 of that's with the aid of worldwide warming. As water warms, it expands and takes up greater room. Ever attempt commencing up a clean jar of applesauce and the lid won't budge? in case you run the jar lid under warm water, it quite is lots greater straightforward to open. it quite is because of the fact the lid expands while it quite is warmer, too. yet differently sea levels upward push is while land-based ice melts and run into the sea. Ice is melting right this moment everywhere in the planet, yet climatologists are maximum anxious regarding the Greenland ice sheet. Greenland is the worlsd's greatest island, and greater advantageous than 80 % of that's lined in ice. the human beings dwelling there are selttled on the slender, rocky coast.. it quite is complicated to believe that ice 2 miles (3 km) deep and as huge as 0.5 of usa can soften, even even though it has already all started to. right this is the place the beaches are available in. Twenty-one ft (ninety six.4 m) is rather tall. it quite is larger than 3 Shaquille O'Neals stacked uup. All that water is going to devour away at latest coastlines. meaning we are able to could redraw the maps of the international because of the fact finished blocks of land which at the instant are above sea point will ber under water.

if the Greenland or Antarctic land based glaciers melt or slide into the seas, expect 20 feet rise in ocean levels for each...no telling when this will happen, but i think within 20 years some major piece of ice will slide in...scientists have discovered that it could happen suddenly because of the way they melt...the water bores thru in channels and sits on the bottom of the glacier...when the balance shifts, it will slide in easily on this layer of water....just recently, they discovered the sea ice connected to the land melted in the same way...they expected the water melting on the top to refreeze, but it honeycombed the ice...when this ice shifted away from the shore, the land based ice was not held back, and is pushing more quickly to the sea.

You should not worry.
Global warming is not a problem and our sea levels are completely normal. Earth's temperatures rise and fall all the time, even before CO2 was emitted in large quanities. Your friend will be ok.

haven't you seen The Day After Tomorrow?
just kidding. in the worst-case scenario, they'll see higher and higher tides, reaching to their house, flooding the basement, etc. So they'll have to build a dam or move.
