OH YEAH...even if he's off-duty!
To Protect and To Serve....
ANY man should protect his partner if threatened...regardless!
But can understand your wariness in this day and age of being sued and perpetrators taking the good guys to court!!;-)

In today's 'Human Rights' Mad Briatin, aka Blair's Britain, every victim of crime, not only cops, have to be careful as they are not allowed to defend themselves when attacked without provocation. The only people that do not need to fear anything are the scum who polute our country.
Your cop b/f may well try and arrest him and hope that the 'law' will deal with him, but let's face it you only get a proper punishment in this country if you try to avoid paying tax!!!! For all other crimes you end up with an ASBO, community service or a pathetic sentence at one of Her Majesty's 5* Hotels!!!
If you were my g/f and I were a cop, I'd beat the crap out of anyone who tried to hurt you or I would pepper spray him and claim that it was self-defence or I'd give his name to a junkie to deal with.

Well if he is a cop, he should be doing his duty. Girlfriend or not he really shouldn't treat you any differently when it comes to his job. I guess it is kind of a dorky way of saying that he shouldn't give you special treatment because you are his girlfriend but he shouldn't be...well...not doing his job as a cop. So if someone tried to harm you, and you report it to your boyfriend, he should react to it like any other police officer would.

Legally, he can physicall restrain someone AFTER telling them that he is a police officer. He must do this or there are serious repercutions.
And if you are wondering if he would stick up for you, without a doubt he would. It is not only his civic duty, but if he really cares for you in any way, of course he will.

well i have s little sister i walked in the room and saw her bf raise his hand to her like he was gonna hit her and i snapped i was beating the sh*it out of himthey had to call my friend ( shes a cop ) to come & get me off of him they had to use one of those stun guns 8 times that guy is so lucky i was in a good mood. he only got 3 broken ribs.
so i dont feel guilt or like i did a bad thing.
if hes a cop he would arrest him if hes on duty if hes not then he would probly beat him up.

He would stick up for you, but he has to be careful about how he handles it. Being a cop he's had a lot of training with this sort of thing, so I think he would handle the situation professionally.

Policemen have to carry their warrant card at all times. If they see an offence being committed they can put them self back on duty immediately. So not only can he protect you but he will get paid for doing it as well (I think it's a minimum 2 hours pay but that might not be current). What more can one ask for? LOL

i'd say a cop is more likely to beat the hell out of another guy than anybody else especially if there is a girl involved.
cops became cops because they're tough.

He would restrain them... maybe not completley knock the $H17 out of them but he would stop them with ease. Its part of a cops trainning to go through fighting moves.
