Rare roast beef is not uncommon. I go to a deli regulary that sells a lot of rare roast beef. Think of beef tenderloin or steak- many people would prefer that it is rare. Only hamburger, or ground meats generally, need to be well done.

If you don't like the blood, you could finish cooking it, by microwaving or baking, or you could check with the store to see if you could exchange it. Generally, they want to make sure people are happy.

Hope this helps :)

Hey, I know exactly what you're talking about. I love that thin-sliced beef. Sometimes the beef I get is cooked pretty rare. If the animal is still bleeding then I'm not ready to eat it--just like you I have looked closely and seen a bag with blood--and shook my head. To answer your question:

I don't think there is anything really wrong with the roast beef. My friend is a chef and he says that 160° F is the peak heat that is required by law with beef. What I try to do is tell the meat-cutter that I want well done. They have always given me well done when I ask (Krogers, for me). Also they told me that one end of the roasts are well done while the other end is left rare. Ask them about this next time.

Peace

Just rinse it off with cold water & re- pakage it, it should be fine.Any time you cook meat either in a pan or on the grill, there will always be a little blood that rises to the surface.

First, you can take it bacl to the market and exchange it.

Second, that's not blood, it is water with dye in it. The blood is removed at the meat packing plant.

I think you could really benefit from ESL classes. IF, in fact, it is lunch meat you bought... there should not be 'blood' in the bag. Judging from the way you type I have to question if you were in a first world country buying said meat. Good luck with that.
