Bin Laden is more valuable to the intelligence and military communities while "at large". They get additional funding and get to step on a few civil liberties along the way and people will accept it. This happens during every major conflict for example internment of Japanese citizens during WWII. We can only hope that things get retunred to normal in 40-50 years when all the terrorists have been rounded up.

The old dirt bag is probably dead, but there were some audio's that came in from al Qaeda a while back, but I'm not sure if they detected bin Laden voice in this latest message. In any case, he is more than likely near death because of his kidney problem, if he isn't already dead.
The region they suspect he is hiding, is well into Pakistan! To infiltrate that deeply into Pakistan will turn a fragile political situation into a volatile political situation. It would also bring a lot of unnecessary distress to Musharraf's regime, and right now we need him as an ally.

Your thinking is not the same with CIA or Bush thought, since them both using that Bin Laden issue to conquer the oil power and killing more muslim to give the opportunity to the Israelis occupation on Palestinean's land.
Money and Power is more important than 3,000 deaths of NY 9/11 or 108,000 muslims death of war of terrorism by USA.

Because he is hiding in Pakistan. That country is an American ally, so America cannot invade. Also they actually do have weapons of mass destruction.

my only guess would be that GWB is trying to finnish his daddy's war with Saddam and 9/11 and wepons of mass destruction were just excuses to do so
