My stuffit expander will not unzip files anymore, therefore I cannot install programs. I'm not paying to have somebody fix this, I'm computer literate enough to fix it myself, just need a pointer here! I tried installing it again, but no luck. I'm running Mac OSX... I'm great with pc's but new to the Mac world.

forget stuffit! os x does zipping and unzipping right in the finder.

remove the program, and any stuffit files.

the only time you need stuffit is when there is a .sit archive... and they are rarely used!

If downloading the Stuffit's new version (11.0) doesn't work use Safari's built in expander. Safari > Preferences... > General > place a checkmark on the "Open safe files after downloading" and download using Safari.

Try asking this question on the forums at this site:

http://www.macosxhints.com/

It's much better set up for follow up questions, and you need to provide more information, which they'll ask you for.

Try downloading the newest version. There is a free version you can download. Make sure it is for your operating system version.
