I'm 16, and my parents have agree to let me get a tattoo. I want one that is on the my calf, and continues over my ankle, and I want one around one of my fingers. My question is, will it hurt?

The answer is ..yes...it will hurt. It feels like vibrating needles on your body. The more sensitive the area...the more it hurts. the neck, head, parts of fingers, feet, etc.. hurt the most. I have one on my calf and it wasn't too painful but if you get close to the ankles it will hurt more. The less "meaty" the spot..the more pain. Keep in mind too that once you start, you have to finish and tattoos aren't a 10 minute thing. Be sure to chose an artist that you are comforable with and NEVER be afraid to ask questions and always see examples of his work. The more experienced the artist the better.

It's a tattoo, of course it will hurt. It's just how much. Certain areas are more sensitive than others. Anytime you tattoo over bone or ligament it will hurt more than over fatty tissue. There are exceptions to that of course, but generally that is what will be. Specifically, the back of the calf and shin hurt more than the sides, the ankle is fine as long as you avoid the bones and achilles tendon (down the back of the ankle) and your fingers will be quite tender.
At 16, I would really think hard about it before getting a tattoo because they really are permanent. Make sure it isn't something you will outgrow or not like 10, 20, 30 years down the line. I made that mistake and have one that is "no longer me." Also, specifically about the one on your hand, you may not get some jobs if you have visible tats. Many bosses find that it "doesn't look professional."
Think about it alot and do your research. Cheap tattoos are not good and good tattoos are not cheap.

Your calf won't be that bad, but your ankle and fingers WILL hurt. Anywhere on a bone or sensative skin hurts the most. I have one in the middle of my chest and it was the worst pain i ever felt. it's on my 360 with the rest of them.

around the finger???? You bet, but it won't take long so the pain doesn't last. The best way to decribe it is a constant bee sting and the after feeling is some what of a bad sunburn for a few days or until that tatt start to peel.

I love tattoos!! the outlining hurts the most.. the filling in feels like a needle being scraped across your skin over and over. It feels kinda raw after a while.

On yer ankle will hurt bc it's a sensitive area. It feels like gettin 10 tetinus shots all at once.

it'll hurt but after a few min , after the outline is done not as much, the body's endorphins kick in and you'll get used to it.
don't get a hand tattoo, you will regret it..only get tattoos in places that can be covered up buy long shirts and pants

I think it just matters on how much tolerance you have for pain. I have two tattoos one on my shoulder and one on my ankle. I actually liked the feeling of getting them. So, be carefull they can be addicting!

yes, it will hurt. they are cutting your skin open and then ink is going into that. you bleed and it does hurt.

I cant tell you how much itll hurt because people have different pain tolerances. and also, it depends on where you get the tattoo. i got one on my shoulder, barely hurt. then i got one on my lower back...that hurt really really bad. my last was on my hip and that hurt bad too.

ankles are particularly painful, im told. ive a few friends whove gotten them on their legs.

depends from the place on your body. i have one in my shoulder and didnt hurt (just a little) i get one in my chest it hurts a little bit more cause the skin is tinner.but it is not a big deal if you really want a tattoo. :)
