I am torn about Hawai'i.

It is the most lovely place I have ever had the pleasure to visit. The people are lovely and sweet. They have mastered the enjoyment and love of life and family. The ideology of being 'RICH' without money has given me a freedom from feeling pressure to attain more and more things.

Understanding the attainment of Hawai'i into the union of the United States, the transformation of the landscape into a concrete capitalist society, forcing the People to abandon their culture in the name of assimilating into a society without culture of their own- this all makes me sick to think.

Although there is little hope there is still hope, the United States will come to it's senses and protect Hawai'i, but not rule it.

In my view, Hawai'i was kept as the most remote spot on earth by God, to show us heaven awaits us. I hope we can allow this "Little Heaven" to not be overrun with more concrete.

Being as I do live in Hawaii, my opinion will be seen as biased to some People who would see it in a different perspective. Whether or not their experience in Hawaii is of a good or bad nature, the overall experience about Hawaii have such a unique quality that one must experience the Family life with the actual People and hopefully bond with them in order for anyone to draw an opinion based on the total experience through a Family oriented structure. Maybe then, One may look beyond the negative propaganda that has blemished Hawaii as a whole. Just because some People see Hawaii as Paradise in the United States, it does not eliminate Hawaii as being like any other State in the U.S.

And yes, Hawaii is an expensive State to live in, but just like everywhere else, it's how you manage your money in order to be able to live anywhere, no matter where.

I love it! A week ago today we were snorkeling in Hanauma Bay! That trip was the ONLY vacation that I took were I was not happy to be back home. I want to move there soooo badly. Hawaii truly is Paradise. The life style is laid back, the people are not "angry" like we are on the main land. The locals were very nice and friendly...I don't know why we don't hear more about Hawaii in the news over here though. Sorry to ramble on. I really miss being there!

Aloha - - - aside from its beauty and the raw power of nature, the volcanic nature of The Big Island, the surge of the Ocean, it is a unique place, one of the only places where those of Asian heritage are in the majority, a place that truly celebrates diversity. Each Island is unique, having its own 'flavor,' it is the only State where one cannot drive from county to county, and yes it can be frightfully expensive to live in Hawai'i but one learns to devise strategies. Hawai'i is small but potent possesing the nations best University football team and best women's volleyball team, 'Go Warriors.'

Peace...

Hawaii is home to me ... it is a unique place with positives and negatives ... just like anywhere else on the map.

You can't beat the weather, the good people, the quality of life (i.e. health care, socio-economic environment, job market ... ).

It is expensive, and traffic is horrendous ... and it is a five hour flight to go anywhere outside of the state.

I used to live in Hawaii and I can say that is the friendliest place that I ever lived. I loved it there. I would like to go back someday.

It's a great place to live. Everyone assumes that it's incredibly expensive to live here but it's not so bad.
