I cook with the crock pot often, and one thing I know for sure is that if you cook chicken in the pot with the skin on, you run the risk of having a greasy mess. Why not barbecue some drumsticks in the crock pot. Clean the chicken, cut up an onion, use your favorite sauce, whole bottle depending on how much chicken you have. Pour the sauce in with an equal amount of water along with the onions, some seasoned salt, pepper, and a hint of garlic salt. Simmer all day on low. When it is over, you will have a great crock pot of barbecued chicken. You can do the same with the whole chicken, you'll just have to decrease the amount of water in the crock pot by emptying it before you put the sauce and the other ingredients in. (Cook the chicken in the crock pot first, drain 1/2 of the water, then add the remaining ingredients, and simmer).

You could cook the whole chicken in the crock pot with a can of cream of mushroom soup. Depending on how long you cook it, the bones may come out easily and lose it's form when you take it out of the pot. I would suggest just baking it (stuffed with rice cooked with ground sausage) in the oven in an oven bag, breast side down, rubbed down with boullion granules and poultry seasoning.

I placed an entire rooster (take out the innards first and rinse the fowl) interior the crock pot, and upload water, rooster bouillon, clean cloves of garlic, celery tops (save the stalks for later) salt, pepper, and rooster seasoning. Simmer interior the crock pot for 0.5 the day, then upload onions, carrots, celery and potato's and proceed cooking until each and every of the vegetables are gentle. get rid of the rooster, debone and throw away the floor and icky stuff, then placed the beef returned into the crock pot and serve. that's fairly useful to thicken up the inventory with a roux of flour and water mixed as much as the consistency of a pancake batter, then placed into the crock pot and proceed to stir until thickened. desire this enables!
