Ever get jealous or covetous of people or above you in "this world". I know I can sometimes. I get jealous of guys with really good looks and who are skinny and lean and heck sometimes I will get jealous at anyone who is better than me at anything.
But the kicker for alot of us is occupation/social status. I saw a great sermon tonight on a channel I usually never watch by Pastor T.D. Jakes. It was about using what God gave you and playing your role in the for God. Stop worrying and wishing what you do not have and give thanks and Glory to what God gave you and what you can do with what he gave you. If a sergeant is so covetous of the officer rank and she/he is preoccupied with thought of comparison and jealousy he is not faithful to his duty to the sergeant who accepts his status and current position and concentratets on doing the best with where God has him/her in their life at the time. Better a faithful and dutiful sergeant than a lazy Major.

"Stop wishing you were born with green eyes, or blonde hair or more shapely calves...thank God for and find a way to use the gifts he gave YOU to praise him--jealousy and covetousness revolves around a self-centerednsess that has one self-obsessed with loving and bettering themself to the point where they may fail to genuinley care and love for others or even God.

I never got jealous, but I used to ask, "why they have this or why she get to do that" then I began to pray and ask God to remove those thoughts and questions from me and He delivered me from thinking like that and being ungrateful of who I am and what He has done for me. He helped me realized that I too can have whatever I ask of Him as long as I keep his commandments and do those things that are pleasing in his sight. (1John 3:22) Jealousy is a not a feeling or desire of God, so you have to pray and ask God to remove those thoughts from your heart and ask Him to help you to appreciate what he has made you and thank Him also that you are who He says you are.
Also we are not to determine who and who isn't a man of God, we are all His children, So if you heard a message from TD Jake and you received something in your heart from that message, thank God for that message you received and press on in the Lord. God Bless.

I have felt like this so many times, it's impossible to count them. When I can get myself to do this--it is what helps the most---do something for someone else. That way, you take the focus off yourself and onto others. For me, it was sending a card, or even making a treat, or asking someone to go out to eat with me. It was hard to do, but took the focus totally off me and on to other people who may not even have as much as I do....and also to the fact that I am good and can be good for other people. Good luck.

Pray to God and you will be fine. You are already on the way to being less jealous just by recognizing that you are and understanding it and trying to fix it. Good Luck and God Bless You.

''A lazy Major'' Hahaha, I like that one, you don't get to be a Major if you are lazy!! Anyway, that's besides the point. Anyway, what is your point? My goodness me, I'm 6'2'', blond, blue eyes, and I always had money, and do you know how sick I got of all the women who wanted to sleep with me???? All the women who got me drunk and date raped me??? Not at all - Hahahaha. Get with the program. Haven't you ever heard of evolution and the survival of the fittest?

The Lord Jesus said not to cling to material things. Those that are 'above us' (financially) are actually beneath us. Those that are actually above us (spiritually) humble themselves as our equals. So I'm curious, what's to be jealous of?
