No opinions please can you just tell me what happened and why they went in there. And how long it went on for and anyhting else about it you can think of.

After the Vietnamese kicked the French out in the 50's. North Vietnam wanted to be communist and the south part wanted to be capitalist. So the USA went in to help the south. Of course the cowards in Washington and all the hippies wouldnt let us win. They made us fight with our hands tied behind our backs. The US never lost a battle but lost the war. So after about 50 thousand some odd American deaths we pulled out and left the south to itself. The North overwelmed the south and took it over. Now Vietnam is a 3rd world country.

French left Vietnam, leaving Vietnam in two pieces. That's part of the reason why the war started. We lost the war because the chinese pushed us out just like the korean war.
