Yes. But they are very few and far between. The numbers have been raised since 9/11 but it's still close to something like 50 miles of border for every Border Patrol agent.

I live near the Canadian Border and yes, there are Border Patrols on the roads. They have offices in near-by border towns but are on the road a lot, although probably not as much as the US/Mexico border.

No ma'am. There are border checkpoints at all the major road crossings, I-5 and such. There is a small group of Canadian Border Patrol units that are there to help stop smugglers, but nobody is out looking for illegal immigrants or anything.

There is border patrol, after all it is entry to another country! The problem isn't about Canadians trying to cross illegally and vice versa! The problems are about fugitives and illegal smuggling trying to get by!

Yes there is and I have gone to Canada about every week for three years, it is lots more controlled than the one south.
