My sister is getting her gall bladder removed December 8th but they asked her to come in on December 1st to get pretested. She is wondering what they are going to do to her when she goes for the pre testing?

This a very normal thing the hospital does for just about every procedure they usually call it pre-op testing. Taking vitals, blood
work, sometimes x-rays etc. Because it is easier to do this a week early and get it out of the way then having to do it the day of the surgery. Just make sure she stays healthy and does not get
around anybody that is sick since she cannot have a cold or fever or bad sore throat 1 to 3 days pryor to the surgery because
it will have to be put off for a later date. The nurses will explain
this at the pre-op. Good Luck on the surgery and speedy recovery.

It's just a typical pre-op exam. Her blood pressure will be taken, a EKG,a health history and they will need to know all meds she is on both prescribed and OTC.[ she should bring a list with her ]
She will be weighed- very important to know how much anesthesia she will need and she will sign papers giving them permission for the operation.
They may take blood .
It's not a big deal. You should go with her and keep her company.

They will take some blood, check her vitals and perhaps ask some health questions. They just need to know whether there are any other health issues they need to be aware.

They will do a blood test to check her hemoglobin, hematicrit, red blood cell count and platlets to make sure everything is safe for surgery, especially if she is on blood thinners.
(hemoglobin - measure of oxygen receiving molecules on red blood cells.
hematicrit - red blood cell percentage of whole blood.
platlets - ability of blood to clot.)
