I have root stock from lemon or a lime tree, and i was wanting to graft a satsuma orange to it . will it work?

It will work And it has been done, They are all plants in the citrus family of plants. Do a Google search for the emthod of grafting suggested and its method.

yes, most cultivars of plants in the citrus family are grafted anyway ... lemons are often grafted onto what are called "trifoliata" stocks

I would choose a dwarf fruit tree that I would use the fruit of or could give away. I would not plant a tree next to my house.
