Yes- the world is not overpopulated. There are enough resources for everybody but they are being poorly managed. Some areas are overpopulated but, for example, in the U.S. with an average of 1.67 children per woman we need to step it up if we don't want to have a huge problem of way too many old people and not enough young people. Same thing with a lot of countries in Europe. Not saying everyone should have big families but if those who want to can have more and thus help so that when we get old there will still be people to help take care of us.

Well, I am a parent of 6 kids. My husband and I have been married for 18 years and our kids are 17, 16, 14, 13, 22 months and 4 months. I feel yes we have the right to have as many as we choose to have and take care of. We are a military family and have traveled all over the earth with our kids and have financially taken great care of them with nobodys help but our own. I love all of our children and cant imagine not having that many. Too each their own though. I do know people who have 1 or 2 and rely on welfare and foodstamps, so should they have the right to have kids???

What give you or the government the right to play God and decide how many children a person is allowed to have? Children are a blessing from God and theres always such a thing as birth control or sterilization. Why should we allow any government to decree how many children can be born? Do we live in the book 1984 or in a Communist government? No Thank God we don't and it will be a cold day in hell before our government gets that far left wing and starts micromanaging our lives

Well, I guess it's different for everyone on here LOL. My brother and his wife adopted seven children, the first five are siblings and were all drug babies. After 10 years and giving up trying, they were blessed with another one naturally, number eight. I totally believe he should have that many if he likes, but for the druggee mothers of the seven that were given up, I can see why some people shouldn't be allowed to have kids! Can go both ways I guess.

It isn't a question of rights. Rights are a man-made concept of society and laws, neither of which are not necessarily in tune with nature. Humans, like all animals, are programmed to reproduce in a certain manner. Our instincts tell us to mate as often as possible, which would promote population growth. Other factors, such as disease, food supplies, waring tribes, lack of habitat, etc. controls population levels. Some will die, where the strongest survive. To purposely limit or control populations, may lessen the chance of producing the strongest offspring and slow the process of evolution. If any of this makes sense, then there are no child bearing limits. Overpopulation will solve itself, without us trying to play God.

I think people have the right to have as many children as they want...provided that they have the means to provide for them without state assistance. I don't really see what the population of the world has to do with it. Some people love large families.

I believe people should have as many children as they are able and willing to care for...
I do not however agree that the world is overpopulated... Within the world we have enough renewable resources to feed and cloth a population 3+ times as large as the current population.. Our problem is mobalization of resources and economics... For instance my uncles are farmers in Kansas they are payed each year to not plant crops in certain fields in order to stabalize the supply and demand of economics... It is not a question of resting a field as the rotation of crops in fields does that... By paying farmers to not plant crops the price per acre of that crop is raised due to less supply more demand...
Nope overpopulation is not a reason to not have children, because the world is not overpopulated.... Not being able and willing to care for children properly is however a good reason to not have more than you can handle...

If YOU're the one to decide that they don't, how would YOU enforce it?
It's not reallyl up to another to decide; those that have in mind the condition of our planet and it's sustainability will make apropriate choices. China is in the process of such enforcement, and it's getting really twisted over there. The male / female ratio is all out of whack. Parents are choosing offspring based on who will support them rather than the makeup of the population.
Such legislation, while appearing beneficial may bring more harm than good.

If they have the financial means to support that many children, then yes, I think they have every right to have as many kids as they want. It is the people who can't afford to support the kids that they keep having, who I have a problem with. If you and your kids are on Medicaid, food stamps, public housing, welfare and wic, and you still allow yourself to get pregnant again, then you have no business continueing to breed.
