It is a lot of hard work to become a medical internist in both your studies and coursework. You have to keep really high grades about an A in your science courses such as biology and chemistry in high school. In college, it can be many different majors, but science courses are needed. Volunteer work is really great at the hopsital or nursing home. Medical school is the next step after college and lasts a minimum of 7 years. I have included some readings on the subject below.

Try being a volunteer at your local hospital. There are community programs that allows students be volunteer EMTs, of course after you have been trained. Check with your high school and community service to see if they provide similar services.
