I don't understand this at all. If I said that I hated country music (which I do, btw) then no one would care. But as soon as I even imply that I don't like gospel, then everyone is like "OMG U GO 2 HELL!1!"

Wtf...? Is it my fault that the lyrics are cheesy and the music sucks? Just my opinion, Christians. I don't get pissy when you don't like something I listen to.

I believe in God, but I have to admit that I don't like gospel either. Or country. So, I'm with you man. It's your own personal opinion, and they have theirs. But they shouldn't judge (which Christians tend to always do) what you decide to listen to. I'm a heavy metal fan myself--including Marilyn Manson. And people criticize me constantly, even though I really and truly am a good person.

Have you ever just tried not listening to gospel music? I don't like country music. I don't like rap either. And I'm not exactly sure of what the hell "emo" is. Actually, most of the music out today blows big hairy diseased dog balls. I don't complain about it, I just don't listen to it. I keep lots of cd's in my car and I don't even turn the radio on anymore. Perhaps if you don't want the holy rollers jumping in your shorts about your rabid dislike of gospel music, you should simply refrain from discussing the above-mentioned dislike with them and stop listening to gospel music.

Well, I'm a Christian and I certainly do NOT like Gospel music (nor CCM, for that matter). About 95 % of them are more entertainment and /or sensual rather than Christlike. And no wonder, for most "Christians" cannot give up this mind -destroying music so they baptize it by changing the lyrics to so-called 'christian' words.

I am a Christian and that's really lame that some Christians down you for that. It's not my favorite music either. I'd much rather listen to other music but I love the words. I'm sorry anyone gave you trouble because of that. They are wrong.

Gospel music or Christian music?
Christian music is now great. Lots of very talented musicians. Huge variety. All tastes.Cheesy stuff is gone. (well, okay, SOME is still around....)

This is fine by me lol!

Since I like old rock and roll it is hard NOT to like some of the Christian music these days, considering some of the SAME people are now playing Christian music....to each there own though......

You have a right to your own opinion. Yes , sometimes the lyrics are a bit cheesy. I just keep quiet about it. No point in offending certain people's sensibilities. Try not to be too loud in your opionions. Nothing gained.

I don't find it offensive. You like what you want. I am a Christian and I don't like gospel music and I know a lot who don't.

No one gets offended by what you think, it's your saying it aloud that gets you in trouble.

I can guarantee that in some places in the South West you would loose some teeth for talking trash about country music.

Freedom of speech means you have freedom to say things, it doesn't mean you can't be held accountable for what you said.
