like for example, god returns tomorrow, could people witness this and then repent their sins and be saved or is there a cut off time after which no one can be saved

its too late when you die and judgement has been set.

if you read in Revelations, John does mentioned souls that were saved after Jesus' second coming(the rapture), some of those souls survived the 7 year tribulation while most have their heads cut off by the Antichrist for refusing to take the mark of the beast(666).

When Jesus does come back, it will be in the twinkling of an eye. Thats like you see someone you blink for a split second and then they are gone. Too late to be taken in the rapture, but you still have the opportunity to accept Jesus during the tribulation.

No one is guaranteed tomorrow, you may go to sleep tonight and not wake up tomorrow. this life is just a speck in time, but eternity is forever.

If you really want to repent and be saved what 's actually stopping you doing that right now, while, there is yet time, and while, the door is still open? Soon this door will be shut and, then it will be too late, so it will be too late when the door shuts. but since you ask this question would waiting for the last minute really be repentance? In no way, if Jehovah publicised the end date, would not everyone then or just maybe the day before, then, suddenly repent? Get the picture that type of repentance is hollow, it is not, repentance at all, it is an action to save oneself, not true repentance, true repentance which is what Jehovah God wants, is to turn around from a bad course, before, this date, and to live according to the requirements of God shows true repentance, so I hate to break it to you but that kind of repenting will not save because Jehovah knows what is in your heart, you cannot hide anything from him!!! So if you want salvation now is the time to learn about Jehovah God and submit to him by the time you decide may then already be too latesince the Bible does say that the end day will come suddenly and like a thief in the night(1Thessalonians5:2) Soon the people of the world will know that there exists a God(1Thessalonians17:46 and soon People will have to know That God is Jehovah(Ezekiel2:5) but when you witness these events it will already be too late, There is just a little more that will happen before the end happens! (1Thessalonians5:3) says that when there is a cry of peace and security then the End will com sudenly, That is when False Religion will be destroyed, Destruction of False religion is now already looming, so is the cry of Peace even amongst unrest, so if you want to be saved now is the time to search for the truth of Jehovah.Otherwise you might miss out on the real life Take this seriously because that is the way it is very very serious, repent now and search for Jehovah while he may yet be found(Isaiah55:6)

There is a cut off time. You will find it in Rev 10:7; 11:15. The only thing we know for certain about that time is that there will be a national sunday law and persecution of the the people of God because they will refuse to except the first day of the week in place of the seventh day of God.

it's too late when you die, and i do suppose if a person really repents with all his heart it may not be to late on the day He returns. But i will say that most likely it will be to late then because when he returns people will be way to evil or in to thier own thing to truly repent. After all when He returns it will be on the day and the last moment before we humans destroy life on this planet.
I hope this answers your question.

Its too late when you are dead. The thing is no one knows when they will be dead, it could happen next week or I could keel over as I type this answer to you. So, don't take the chance of missing God,s gift for you. People are afraid to come to God because they think they have to get perfect first. You don't, you just need to realize that you are not perfect, neither am I or anybody else for that matter. We goof up every day, just once a day if we are lucky. Christ wants to walk with you all your days, so when you do go home to Heaven it will be a fine and great day. Don't miss it, its not hard to get there.

The only unpardonable sin is to reject God until after you die. There is no other sin He cannot forgive. God is a loving God, and wants you to accept what he did for you.
However, you don't know if you will be alive even in 5 minutes! Why put it off? Accept Him into your life now!

after you are dead, you can't be saved cuz there is not purgatory as some teach! and once the great tribulation begins and people start to receive the mark of the beast, they can not be saved! and the bible does speak of a day when the Lord will turn people over to their own lusts and send something upon them which will not allow them to see the truth. i am still studying this but i believe i have given you the correct answer.

One must always be prepared for the Lord's return. If you have unconfessed sins, seek forgiveness and repent now. Your eternal life depend on it. One must do this before death to show true repentance.

God is all giving and forgiving. If you truly want to be saved and if you ask for his forgiveness he will always save you. When the Judgement Day comes he will ask you if you want forgiveness

God be with you
