some things are worth paying for. and this is one of them. Professional piercers have all the necessary equipment. They autoclave everything, just like hospitals do. If you do this yourself, it's going to hurt more, take longer, and get infection. The chances of rejection are going to be greater. Save your money, and pay to have this done. It's good to establish a reputation with a piercer, so if you have problems later, you have someone to go to for help. If you have problems with a do-it-yourself piercing, you're going to have problems finding sympathy.

Don't do your own lip and nose! Like other people said, too much can go wrong. The tissue on your face is different from that on your ear. Even though the nose is also made of cartilage, it's a much smaller area to work with (the gauge for nose piercings is 20; piercings in other parts of your face are usually 14 or 16, and standard lobes are 16 or 18), and if it goes wrong, it'll be right in the middle of your face, unlike an ear piercing. The needles that professional piercers use are very sharp and extremely clean, reducing both pain and more importantly, the chance of infection, or a really messed up piercing in general. You don't want a bundle of scar tissue on your lip or nose, do you?

I've pierced my own ears twice (cartilage and inner conch) with a safety pin that was big enough to fit 16-gauge jewelry. I was young and pretty lucky that nothing went wrong, but these are my ears I'm talking about. If you still must know, I heated the safety pins and soaked them in alcohol (not the best disinfectant, but better than nothing) hours before I did the piercing. Then I took an ice cube and numbed the area a bit before poking the needle through with just a paper towel behind to collect the needle and blood. Then I pulled it out and pushed a plain stud through quickly. Yes, there was bleeding, but not much; you can expect way more for a nose or lip piercing. I would NOT recommend getting it done by a gun or using a gun to do it yourself; I've had a few ear piercings done by gun and they got infected and gross, unlike the self-done ones.

So moral of the stories: get it done by a professional who uses new needles! =)

I do those piercings all the time, so yes, I know what to do and how to do it. You will need to know a few things about sterilization, anatomy/placement of piercings and you will also need to know what type and material the jewelry should be.

Never self pierce unless you are a trained and skilled professional piercer. Based on what you are asking, you are not...save your pennies and have someone else pierce you the correct way.

Piercing yourself will cause a number of problems. You can cause unnecessary pain, bleeding, scarring and always increase risk for infection. You can use the wrong equipment and wind up with a crooked and infected piercing. Using wrong and improper jewelry can cause slow healing time and increase risk for scarring, infections and pain.

Sure. Take a dirty safety pin and let the dog/cat lick it just for good measure. Make sure you drop it on the floor several times on the way to the bathroom.

Lean over the sink and stab yourself straight through Since its on your face, make sure you stab yourself in the wrong place, and you'll gain a lovely scar.

Push your dirty, uncleaned jewellery through the bleeding hole, and make sure you don't sterilise it for several weeks.

You should expect a dodgy, wonky piercings, infection and spot bleeding, lots of comments on your infected wound, and quite possible some form of blood disease, if you're REALLY lucky.

Seriously, are you so stupid you can't afford to walk into a professional piercing salon, especially for a piercing as sensitive as a nose, eyebrow or lip? If so, you totally desrve everything you do to yourself.

Although I am all for home peircing, I do not recommend doing your own lip; your lip tissue is one of the thickest areas that you can pierce. You can go to tattoo and peircing supply stores (both online and in your nearest city) to buy professional needles and tongs so you get the best piercing you yourself can do. Feed stores sell peircing needles as well if you live in a smaller town. Definitely go to walmart or peircing shop to buy some ear antiseptic or use good ol' salt water which is what you would receive at a shop. Although piercers do not recommend using alcohol on piercings because it tends to dry them a bit, it may be the only chance you have at not getting an infection. Boil your STAINLESS STEEL needle for some time and then clean both the needle and the peircing site with alcohol (dont use the same swabs for the 2 different places) before peircing. Some websites sell how-to videos as well. I recommend going to a shop for your first peircing so you get the experience over with and can really observe the things that they do.

just some questions to ask yourself.

If I were you I wouldn't do your own piercings. I have all the piercings done that you listed. Your nose is very painful because you are going through cartlidge and skin. If you do decide to do one yourself just make sure it is not your eyebrow because there is a vein in your face and if you accidently pierce it you will paralyze your face so that is one that you should have done professionally.

My nostril piercing substitute right into a house-interest. i substitute into 13, and each place on the city had an age limit of 14, regardless of be sure's permission. My mom offered me a stud and we sterilized a sewing needle with alcohol, numbed my nostril with ice, and caught a pencil eraser in my nostril so i does not stab my septum while the needle went with the aid of. I have been given it midway with the aid of myself, then pussied out. After approximately 10 minutes of strolling around with a needle midway with the aid of my nostril, my stepdad pushed it something of ways with the aid of for me. nonetheless have it 2 years later and this is by no ability been contaminated or something.

its not good to do it yourself. i had a friend try to pierce his own nipple and he blacked out, woke up with a needle halfway thru his nip. i had a friend who used a eargun to pierce his nose, that worked out pretty well. have a friend do it for you. just make sure you sterilize and use all new equipment. it will be painful so if you can get something for the pain that will help afterwards.. good luck

DON'T DO IT YOURSELF!!!

Go see a professional so that it will be done properly. There are so many dangers if you do it yourself! A professional will be using sterilized tools and will be able to do it for you quickly and properly.

Don't put yourself at risk for infection!

Trust me, it's worth the $50 you spend to get it done! Especially if you do the eyebrow. There are so many nerves there! You can do major damage.
