My grandmother is blind. My grandfather is going blind and is already partially deaf. My sister, whom they adopted 30 years ago is multiply handicapped, deaf and has cerebral palsy. My grandfather delivers newspapers with my dad and gets paid $60 a week. My grandmother can't work. My sister works at Salvation Army, and they do her wrong. She gets paid less than $1 an hour and works 40+ a week. Her average paycheck for 2 weeks is 40 cents. She only gets $250 a month in disability, and they're hurting. Bad. They have been buying their house for over 40 years, and the bank is now coming to get it. I've offered them a place to stay at my house, but I'm 800 miles away from them. They live down the street from my father, but he wants nothing to do with them because of my sister's disabilities. I need to know of a good place to post their story and help raise money for them. I've done craigslist, I've emailed Maury...and I would just like to know of a few more places where I can do so. TY.

For those of you who are calling me a liar - Persons with disabi;ities don't get paid minimum wage in NC. She gets paid around $1 an hour, and only gets about $.40 a paycheck - which is only every 2 weeks. The reason for this being - taxes. She DOES get taxes taken out. And for those of you who don't believe that an organization such as the Salvation Army would do this - HA! They've got the wool pulled so far down over your eyes it isn't funny. They DO do stuff like that to people - people that they can do it to and get away with it. I have proof. I have her check stubs, etc.

If you don't believe what I'm saying, why are you even answering? Why do you have to click "Answer" and call me a liar? You aren't in my situation. And honestly, I hope you never will be. It's a really messed up thing to know that your grandparents and handicapped sister could quite possibly be homeless because of the way the Government is nowadays. Don't call me a liar. I wish I were.

I don't believe they will end up homeless at all. If they've been paying for a house for so long, they have a certain amount of equity built up and if the bank wants their money then, so be it. There will be something left over and if not they'll be eligible for enough of an increase in disability to cover a place to live. I think all will be well enough for you not to worry so much about it. Good luck if you choose to put energy into assisting them, but I hope they'll be fine without your worries.

First you need to check your Savation Army wages amount out.
I do not believe that organization would be doing this. This does not sound like it is really so. sorry, but that is my personal feelings.
something is not right with that. besides, that is way the heck below min wage.
I suggest you re-write your story and be sure that you have everything factual or you might not get the help you are seeking.
Older people do need help however your father needs to get himself involved in the situation. Looks like he is using your sisiter situation as an escape from doing so.

What about applying for Extreme Makeover: Home Edition? I've seriously thought about doing that for my own parents who are in a comparably bad situation...also you can write to your local newspaper. That's all I can think of at the moment....good luck. I hope things work out for your family.

I don't believe you. That doesnt make since you said your sister makes 1 dollar an hour but only makes 40 cents? That is a lie. You also said that your grandpa works with your dad then said your dad doesnt want anything to do with them?
