give him one other chance. He is distracted with his job, you are seeing it through the lens of your old relationship baggage.

Sounds like you need a little more time to heal from the last relationship. There's nothing wrong with that. In fact, it's probably the most responsible thing you can do. I can't tell you the number of times that I have met someone who was just out of a bad situation and I paid for everything the other person did. There's nothing attractive about that.
If he's already causing you to have "red flags", then return his call and let him know that you're not interested. No one can fault you for being honest. It's not about oweing him anything; it's about what kind of woman do you want to be. You'll feel better having done that. Good luck.

No, 2 days isn't too long...but it does show a lack of interest.
Don't let your abusive relationship jade you to all men. Treat each as an individual and get to know them for their own merits and shortcomings.
If you aren't that into him...that's fine...but don't just give him the "brush off" by not returning his call. If you are adult enough to be dating and having relationships, then be adult enough to maturely express a lack of interest in someone or to break up properly if involved. The brush off is VERY rude and also the cowards way out.
If you think "something is not right about it" then simply return his call, thank him for his interest, but tell him you are sorry but you do not reciprocate it...and wish him well in the future. At least then he's not left hanging, and you can feel good about being honest and also (hopefully) treating someone as you would like to be treated. I don't know about you, but I HATE getting the brush off...it's no fun having someone express interest in you, then just disappear, not return your calls, and you never know why...did they die? did they just lose interest? did they get back with an ex? were they just using you? did they lose your number? had you read more into it than they meant anyway?
Don't do that to someone...leave them hanging...interested or not, call him back...

2 days is nothing and he sounds like a busy guy. Relax ok? Dont be in such a hurry. You of all people should take it slow after what youve come out of. If your too eager you will scare him off. Guys do not like clingy needy women. You need to relax lady.
Give him a week. if he doesnt call, then call him and tell him you had a good time before with him then ask if hes interested in having another date.

I think you should give him a call back. People do stupid things when their trying to start a relationship, he might be regretting what he said at this moment. Two days isn't such a long time, expecailly since its over the holiday weekend.

The rudest thing you can possibly do is pretend to be interested in him when you're not. The second most rudest thing you can do is pretend to be available, when you're not. If you truly desire to be NOT RUDE, be honest... and allow him to perceive your actions in whatever manner he chooses.
If there's something you decide is not right about it, simply tell him your not interested in dating him.
"Honesty" is generally the best policy. Even... when it seems rude.

If you're interested in the guy, I say call him right away. Otherwise, counting days would totally seem like playing games to me.
