The same has been done in many countries throughout history. Britain and the US have a long history of entering countries and leaving suddenly. That country is then responsible for cleaning up what was left. Look at India, many African nations, Israel, etc. All colonized by western nations as the US is trying to do with Iraq. Problems will continue from this for years to come regardless of when we leave. Leaving now will save American lives in the present but may endanger them in the future. This says nothing of the mess that is the political structure in Iraq. Internal organizations, aside from the military, need to aid Iraqi citizens in building a stable infrastructure crucial to maintaining society. There is a lot that the US can continue to do and money they can spend in Iraq without occupying the country with troops. As long as Americans are working in Iraq, the military is needed to maintain some sort of order because that is currently what we have to work with.

The US soldiers would be better off. The people who brought US into Iraq need to be tried as war criminals.

Over time, the area would adjust and the US should make peace with diplomatic actions, such as money, refugee status for Iraqis and efforts to bring all nations in the middle east together.

Bush and his cabal should offer a massive apology with a full and honest justification for why they went in. The American people were sold lies and should not be held responsible for what Bush did.

This is a complicated process but it should happen so that Americans can live honestly and in peace. Write a letter to a leader and tell them.

If we left Iraq we would be abandoning the Iraqi people to the terrorists.

The best that they could then hope for is to be invaded and partitioned by Iran, Turkey and Syria.

Millions of innocent Iraqis would die.

No. It would be a greater tragedy, then when our troops vacated Vietnam. Civil War and unimaginable retribution by the insurgents against the innocent civilian population would take place. Millions of men, women and children would be slaughtered.

I highly doubt it. They will continue to kill each other off until one group becomes the strongest and puts the others under their rule. It has always been that way. The only thing Arabs like more than fighting amongst themselves is fighting the infidel. Most Arabs do not understand democracy. They do understand the rule of the strongest.

In my opinon, yes. Do you know why there are bombings and gun fights in iraq? It's because we're in Iraq. Did you see any car bombings before Saddam was captured?

No. The insurgents would run over the Iraqi government.

I don't think so. I think that the country (actually it probably wouldn't even be able to act as a country) would absolutely fall apart.
