Paul is telling those of 1st century church that this is the best way. He knows that few people will be able to comply fully. He always tried to get Christians to draw closer to Jesus. He said that we should keep our minds on truth,love,justice,mercy. When you admit that Father God knows every thought you have then you understand "praying without ceasing.

You do no actually pray, what you do is be in the attitude of prayer, or another words keep the lines of communication open at all times, kind of like a phone conversation.

I believe that what this means is that you never reach a point that you never have to pray again. The apostle was referring to a lifelong need of prayer.

A Catholic will tell you there daily offering is part of that answer. In the morning we offer up our entire days for the glory of God. All of our fears, hurts, laughter, work, leisure, --- everything is offered to God through Jesus.

You don't always pray it means that you never stpo thinking of the lord. if that helps
