If one does not believe in organized religion these days one is not only considered an atheist... but rather an outcast. Why?
For the simple reason that the self ordained priests, so-called religious elders of the present era do not want anyone getting out of their hold! Religion has become a profession these days. One who is regular to the church, a mosque or a temple is considered a blessed one.
One who remains busy serving others yet unable to attend to the church duties, offer prayers at the mosque or the temple becomes an outcast. It is the vested interest of the so-called spiritual elders to keep the flock together.
Under Islamic law... a woman who cries rape becomes an outcast for the Maulvis of the era consider it so. She needs to produce witness for such a dastardly crime imposed upon her. Devoid of any logic... such fatwas and proclamations lead nowhere.
Prophet Mohammed nowhere has entailed in the sacred Islamic scriptures that a woman would not be protected under the Islamic law. It is only the misinterpretation that Maulvis and religious leaders of the present era take advantage of the situation.
The perpetrators of the crime and the religious leaders are hand in gloves and they do not desire the common masses interfering in their affairs. Such is the lawlessness practiced these days by religious leaders that the coming times spell doom for such religious practices.
The fanatic tendencies existing in Islamic Dharma and also Christianity spells doom for both these religions. Nostradamus has predicted the end of Christianity and Islamic Dharma after the World War 3. It'll be a fight to the finish between Christianity and Islam in the coming World War 3. In spite of such written warnings and documentation... no solution is in sight.
None wants to change. Everyone desires others to change. Scope for harmony is decreasing day by day. Patience and perseverance is at its lowest ebb. What when God Almighty hits out at such perverse activities.
In the present times... a regular visit to the church, mosque or a temple is considered paying obeisance to God in true earnestness. The truth is exactly opposite. Those who are near to God are busy serving the community to the best of their capability always thinking that all are children of God. This sometimes results in forgoing their visit to the church, mosque or the temple.
Such downtrodden denizens of the society (as they are often called by ignorant) are considered as outcast by religious leaders. We fail to realize that it is only these people whose combined strength keeps life going full circle. It is in these people that God truly resides.
God does not live in churches, mosques and temples. God lives in the hearts of those who live and care for the society. In the circumstances if such a one is called an atheist... it is not surprising! More on religion and spirituality here- http://www.godrealized.org/religion_and_spirituality.html

People apply their past experience onto new situations. If the new situation doesn't meet the older expectations, they still move forward as if it did. This is part of the human behavior pattern. Incorporating new information is ultimately very difficult.

I get that too because I dont follow a man made religion. I just tell them I follow God/Jesus, and that God never commanded anyone to follow a religion. There is no religion in the bible and that is is man made and not God made. That usually makes their jaw drop.

i don't believe prepared faith is a competent difficulty, so i don't help it. i don't believe the memories of a ' ability greater advantageous than me,' not because of the fact i'm smug and crammed with myself, (as your question seems to propose), yet because of the fact i think of the human beings who made all that up are self serving liars.

Stereotyping people is most common here, but with knowledge of ourselves and others maybe we will all understand each other.
