Completely your bad luck. Can't believe you think they would hand you over the cash difference, that's just ridiculous. If that was the case shops would never have goods on sale!

Like another answerer said, all you could do was say it was faulty and you wanted a refund, then when you got your refund, buy it at the reduced price and pocket the extra cash.

However, beware they are not obligated to refund you, by law, if the tv is faulty they must offer to refund, repair or replace it, so it is more than likely they would just give you another tv.

Also, I work in retail and if someone did this (refund and then try to buy at lower price) I wouldn't sell them the cheaper TV!

You have been unlucky. Thats what happens!

Nothing. When you purchased the TV you made a contract. Both parties agreed their consideration was the money yours was the TV. The contract is finalised and that is it unless there is something wrong with the set. What I don't understand is if you were happy to pay £950 for the TV at the time then why are you complaining now

You were happy enough to spend £950 on just a TV.... why bother about £155!? Just bad luck tho.

Nothing i guess coz the sale on that item didn't start until just under a month later.
I think you should shop around next time & ask if they have any sales or promotions coming up.

Sorry, you agreed a price at point of sale, would you want to pay them more if the any 'sale' had ended, and the price had gone up to £1050?

Can you still return it (say there is a fault) and then buy it at the sale price?

What you should have asked was - Why have they reduced it, was it - shop soiled, defective, ad' promotions, end of stock range, sales clearance?
