Both Mark 10:11-12 and Luke 16:18 read similarly and they seem to say that anyone who gets a divorce and remarries commits adultery. But both should be understood in the light of the fuller statement found at Matthew 5:27-32. There it is clear that the person who divorces on grounds OTHER THAN fornication and remarries commits adultery. Put another way, the only ground for divorce that frees one to remarry is fornication. If one divorced on any other ground and remarried, that one would be committing adultery in the eyes of God and the person to whom that one was now married would be committing adultery as well.
God only recognizes fornication (adultery) as a ground for divorce with a view to remarrying.

Yes it is.
If a man sets aside his wife and marries another he is commiting adultery.
His first wife, then may be allowed to separate from him and possibly marry again.
No fault divorce goes against Jesus.
Does this give you the mark of the beast? We'll know at End Times.
It should also, however, be noted that "Women are not to speak in the church." That's also in 1 Corinthians. Thus Women Ministers go against Paul's doctrine.
That's why MARRIAGE of gays (not simply being homosexually oriented) is a hot bed issue.
It sanctifies a man lying with a man as he's supposed to lay with a woman.
Next I suppose some liberal churchs will sanctify fornication. Right now most take a "don't ask don't tell" attitude about it.

A can of worms!!!
Question divorce and remarriage amongst Christians and watch the fur fly!!!
Jesus' words are very clear in Matthew 5, Mark 10, and Luke 18.
They are just hard for most Christians these days to stomach....
(Obviously - but I'll mention it anyway - to remarry after a spouse has died is permissable because at that point the living partner is freed from the marriage commitment.)
enough said.

My interpretation: What is the motive for the divorce? Is it because there were serious problems within the marriage or was it because one of the couple desired someone else?
I believe Jesus was talking about the latter case. So if, for example, the husband was violent or behaves in a life threatening manner towards his wife; the wife, for her own safety, should divorce him. On the other hand, if the wife desired someone in the next department at work, then that wouldn't be grounds for divorce.

Romans chapter 7 vs 1-3
1 Or are ye ignorant, brethren (for I speak to men who know the law), that the law hath dominion over a man for so long time as he liveth?
2 For the woman that hath a husband is bound by law to the husband while he liveth; but if the husband die, she is discharged from the law of the husband.
3 So then if, while the husband liveth, she be joined to another man, she shall be called an adulteress: but if the husband die, she is free from the law, so that she is no adulteress, though she be joined to another man.
Jesus said that fornication is the only justification for divorce.

Yes they can remarry.
God divorced Israel.
DIVORCE
God was husband to Israel.
Isa.54:5 For thy Maker is thine husband; the LORD of hosts is His name; and thy Redeemer the Holy One of Israel; The God of the whole earth shall He be called.
God is divorced, God divorced Israel.
Jer.3:8 And I saw, when for all the causes whereby backsliding Israel committed adultery I had put her away, and given her a bill of divorce; yet her treacherous sister Judah feared not, but went and played the harlot also.
Does God like divorce? No, nor should we.
Is divorce the unforgivable sin? No.
So why is that: people, churches, and religion try to make divorcees a second class Christian?
Is God second class? No, of coarse not.
So, let’s put a stop to these precepts of men.

Yes, that what it means. But remember that christianity is a cafeteria religion. People only believe the parts they choose to.
