I use to be terrible talking to people. First, you need to learn to relax. You have to be able to have some fun. Next. practice! Try chatting on messenger. There you are not looking people in the face, and it is easier. practice on your friends. Read! So you will have things to talk about. Books, news, papers, etc.
I hope this helps! Getting older helps also.

Silence isn't so bad: relaxing might help.
You sound young, so the first thing to learn is that many people feel really uncomfortable talking.
Sometimes the best thing to do is to ask the person about themselves and their interests. People like talking about themselves.
Group therapy might also help, because people give you feedback on what you're like, and it's useful.
You might find Toastmasters useful, too: www.toastmasters.org. They give you topics to talk about, so you can practice speaking without getting all weird.

Many situations we've gone through in life can make us a poor communicator. The right therapist can find out what situation may have contributed to this in you. Once they know the root cause, they can begin to help you become a better communicator.

If you are not interested in discovering the root cause, you can try on your own to read some books on effective communication. You can also try joining a public speaking group such as Toastmasters.

Best of luck to you.

It sounds like you may be an introvert. If you don't know what an introvert is, here is a great website that explains it along with listing some very famous introverts who have influenced the world in enormous ways: http://www.theintrovertadvantage.com/being.html . There is nothing wrong with you except that you're trying to make yourself be something you're not. Introverts are cool, mysterious and deep people (Cint Eastwood for example)! I am very proud to be one myself!

You sound like a very honest and interesting person. There is nothing wrong with silence, it just means that you're probably a great listener. Be yourself!

I think seeing a psychologist is the only thing that could possibly help with this. The reason I say this is because all of this is mental and there's honestly nothing you alone could do.
