While his views were somewhere to the right of Genghis Khan he wrote good stories on the supernatural and, paradoxically, the Russian Revolution - which I read as a kid (showing my age here) and helped stir my interest in history and politics. I have fond memories of arguing with the librarian at our local library who thought they were unsuitable books for a young person to read.
