The aqueous glutaraldehyde is not used as an antiseptic. It is used to sterilize medical and dental equipments. It is also used for industrial water treatment and as a chemical preservative.

To differentiate an antiseptic from sterilizer: antiseptic are used to avoid or reduce the possibility of infection while a sterilizer eliminates all microorganisms.

Merthiolate is known as thimerosal which is used as an antiseptic and antifungal agent. All the rest mentioned are used as antiseptics.☺
