Much of what you are saying was the custom of the times the bible was written in. That is the interesting thing of the bible, there is a great deal of customs of the time, man's customs, and how God related to these folks. Actually, the stories of Christ are very encouraging for women, because he talked to woman all the time, even though according to custom He should not have. He befriended women and He placed women and children in a place of respect that they did not enjoy at that time. So I have no problem following this Christ Our Churches today have very active women doing much to further the cause of Christ in this world and in the Church. Do confuse the customs of the day with the ways of God.In Christ their is no gender that is better than the other. He cares for all people, which is more than I can say for mankind.

I am a member of the Catholic church and a feminist. I hate the fact that the Church will not allow women to become priest and I hope to see that change one day. I am not naive I don't think it will happen over night, but I think it is possible.
As far as the bible goes, most, well all of it was written from a male perspective and I just don't buy into that. I accept that the Bible was effected by the biases of the people writing it and yet still has good information in it.

If you keep those quoted verses in context, you'll find that they were helpful in the church in Corinth to bring order to the teachings, and put an end to chaos. Paul's letter was written directly to that church to admonish them for on-going practices in that church.
Corinth was a church with many problems. Speaking out as though the teachings were an open forum was just one of them.

Not all Christians are Biblical literalists or Fundamentalists. Our church has female priests, deacons and bishops. I see no serious lack of equality or misogyny in my church, or I obviously wouldn't be there. At my church, a woman can do anything that a man can.

Paul was writing to the Corinthians - a church that was out of control on many counts - women lording their gifts over men was one.

It says in the Bible that women cannot be holy cause they menstruate, which is probably just an excuse. If you're a Christian in this modern world, there are many things in Christianity you cannot accept. Just accept the things you can, and the other things try to explain them away, that's about all you can do. I'm a saint and I'm holy so I don't have to explain anything away.

This verse is in reference to women teaching in the church not to their overall silence. And have you ever looked into the teachings in the book of Mormon or the Koran in reference to women? The Christian Bible is extremely liberal to women in comparison to those.

It means only the ordained can preach. This verse must also be taken in the light of Ephesians and Galatians, which blows your "Christianity-is-against-women" theory.

Thank you, women who are mothers! You have sheltered human beings within yourselves in a unique experience of joy and travail. This experience makes you become God's own smile upon the newborn child, the one who guides your child's first steps, who helps it to grow, and who is the anchor as the child makes its way along the journey of life.
Thank you, women who are wives! You irrevocably join your future to that of your husbands, in a relationship of mutual giving, at the service of love and life.
Thank you, women who are daughters and women who are sisters! Into the heart of the family, and then of all society, you bring the richness of your sensitivity, your intuitiveness, your generosity and fidelity.
Thank you, women who work! You are present and active in every area of life-social, economic, cultural, artistic and political. In this way you make an indispensable contribution to the growth of a culture which unites reason and feeling, to a model of life ever open to the sense of "mystery", to the establishment of economic and political structures ever more worthy of humanity.
Thank you, consecrated women! Following the example of the greatest of women, the Mother of Jesus Christ, the Incarnate Word, you open yourselves with obedience and fidelity to the gift of God's love. You help the Church and all mankind to experience a "spousal" relationship to God, one which magnificently expresses the fellowship which God wishes to establish with his creatures.
Thank you, every woman, for the simple fact of being a woman! Through the insight which is so much a part of your womanhood you enrich the world's understanding and help to make human relations more honest and authentic.

I Corinthians 14:34-35 is often quoted without considering the commands made on the husband. Us men are required to love our wives as Christ loves His Church. That includes death. Maybe the women have it easy. They have to be obedient, but we have to love them with our total lives. The end result is mutual submission.

Women are not dominated and controlled in true Christianity. You have been misinformed.

Women have a place that is necessary in this world. I am a woman who respects God and His ways. I do not question His authority over me, for He is our creator. God knows what it best for men and for women alike.
That scripture instructs us that men are to lead the church as pastors and not women. Women can teach sunday school to the children and still be of service to God. But they are not to be the leader of the church, because God planned it that way. God is always right. He knows what is best for everyone.
Take your mind out of the pysical and dont look at this world through the eyes of a mortal man and look at it through the spiritual eyes according to God. If we followed God through our spiritual side we are less likely to rebel against His word.
People may have a willing spirit but their flesh is weak and it give into what satan wants us to do and that causes us to fall away from what God instructs us to do. Whom do you serve? God or satan?

Because that is the way it should be!
women now days want their freedom, they do not want to be treated like a Lady, they want to be their own person and wear the pants in the house.
That is why their children turn out to be heathens, there is no parental supervision, and nobody to teach them how to behave in a proper manner
