Assuming the hepatitis does not kill the person, then their life span won't necessary be connect to the hepatitis.
Health and life span may be considered as independent factors.

if the hepatitis b is chronic, then chances of a bi-directional diseases are increased. (hepatitis b is found in all tissue, not just the liver) hbv only needs the liver to reproduce. the person with hepatitis b can also be infected with hepatitis d as they only run together hand in hand. you cannot get hepatitis d without the presence of b.
the bi-directional diseases can range from mental disease to other organ damage.
chances are, the person infected could die a bit sooner.

if the diet of the person is that of a healthy one, ie, no red meats or other foods containing iron (this includes multivitamins) and does not drink alcohol and cuts way back on sodium, they can live longer. other things such as lifestyle can play a role...as with alcohol mentioned above, no other drugs should be allowed.

as for the person with hepatitis b, there are treatments out there that will help the virus into remission. the latest that works on some is antiviral chemotherapy.

good luck to you both.

That is a good question. With the proper treatment, a person with hepatitis b will be able to lead an active lifestyle. I don't know the life expectancy of a person with hepatitis b, but chances are they will lie the same amount of time
