I could explain why I want to switch but to be more to the point I just want to know if I have the option. I know the Army has the Blue to Green program, where Sailors can go to a 4 week camp and become Soldiers. Does the Marine Corp have anything similar?

Most of the above answers are not true. The Blue to Green program simply streamlines the process. A DD Form 368, which is a “Conational Release to your Navy DD Form 4 Contract” can be routed via your chain of Command along with a NAVPERS1306/7 (Enlisted Personal Action Request) Now, once approved via NAVY PERS you can work with a USMC recruiting. Once enlisted under USMC contract your Navy contract is canceled.

Reality, depending on you rate, command, length of service, this is highly unlikely to get approved. Your Command Career Counselor will be able to give you more info.

Anybody wanting to enlist in the Marine Corps needs to go through basic training....regardless if they have been in any other service. If you want to "switch" over to the Marine Corps, you will have to finish up your enlistment in the Navy, and then talk with a Marine Corps recruiter. As long as your prior service was honorable, that will not go unnoticed and you will retain some of your rank, and possibly even get a sign on bonus.

No, there is no program to switch from any service to the Marine Corps. To do so, you would have to complete your current enlistment with the Navy, be discharged and then contact a recruiter to go into the Marine Corps.

You will have to complete Marine Corps boot camp and MCT (Marine Combat Training).

Not a chance in h e double hockey stick. First and foremost, you have to wait until your Navy contract is up, that includes any terminal (leave) time you may have. If you were a Marine going to any other branch, you don't have to redo boot camp. If you are coming from any other branch into the Marine Corps, you gotta do Marine Corps boot camp. No exceptions

All services should accept you. You may need to go through the Marine BMT program simply because USAF and NAVY BMT isn't going to cut it. I don't know of a program like Blue to Green but if you talk to a recruiter they'll help work the issues. I'm going to guess that they'll want you to wait until your re-enlistment's up and you join just as a prior service Marine.

As soon as your hitch in the Navy is up. Or you could ask the COB,
If nothing else he could head you in the right direction.

Thank you very much, while you're up.
