First, you need to decide which is more important:
your hair
or
all the wonderful people awaiting Christmas presents...
Maybe you have a friend with a straightener you can use.
Or maybe you could just put your hair in a ponytail for a few days. It won't kill you, trust me, I've done it before... it's only a few days.

You seem to be torn between your desire to buy Christmas gifts and the need for a hair straightener.

If you already have a straightener to use, and your Grandfather is bringing it to you in a day or two, I think you should take the one you just purchased back for a refund.

Is there a way you can "tame" your hair temporarily - maybe with spray or gel? Could you wear it up, or in a clip? Could you wear a hairband, or a bandana as an accessory that might smooth down
some of the wild curls or frizz, or whatever it is that needs help?

I don't have hair that needs straightening, so it's hard for me to give you good advice. But I think if I were dead broke and wanted to buy gifts, I'd try to come up with a creative solution for my hair do.

Good luck!

i completely understand, i wouldn't be able to go ten minutes without my straightener, but, here's what i'd do, take the new straightener back and try fixing your hair a few new ways other than just straight for the next couple days. this will give you a chance to try something new. if you still can't go that long without your straightener, call up your grandpa and see if you can drive to his house and get it. or maybe keep the new straihtener and ask your parents for a little more cash until after the holidays..hope everything works out!

Well, this is supposed to be a season where you think of others, so it's hard to have someone else answer that for you. A nice thing to do would be to go without something yourself, and know you're giving to others. But I guess it depends how urgently you think you need the straightener. Could always curl your hair, or toss it up in a pony tail, and then be fine. . . . .Good luck deciding!

first off, there is no such thing as a dumb question just dumb answers.I think you should take it back.As you said that is all the money you'll be getting this month and two days isn't long if you want to spend some on Christmas.

Take it back, and with the money, buy yourself a very small notebook that you can carry at all times to keep track of your spending in. You'll be surprised at just how much you receive that goes to frivolous items.

Good luck with your holiday shopping.

20 dallers for two days? Girl you must love your hair. Take it back to the store and go for a new look for a couple of days.
