Let's see, my first child didn't crawl until he was 15 months old. My second and last child crawled at 3 1/2 months. We tell friends and family it was to stay alive by avoiding his brother who wanted to love him to death! Don't worry about how old your baby is when it crawls all kids do it when they want to.

Most children begin crawling between the ages of 7-9 months. The age range is an average... many children begin around 7-9 months, but some can begin as young as 5 months, and others as late as 11 months. It depends on the child's developmental age, and if there are any cognitive problems that may prevent or delay crawling and other motor milestones.

It really depends on the child. Some start crawling as early as 7 months, others not until they are a year of more. Some children never crawl. They improvise by dragging themselves or scooting, or using feet and hands rather than knees.
Each child is an individual, and they all progress at their own pace.
If it becomes and issue, it is always good to check with your pediatrician.

best wishes

Basically it all depends on how much tummy time you give the child from birth. In general, most children begin crawling when they are able to sit up by themselves. As for my grandson, he started crawling around 5-6months. He started walking at 10 1/2 months.

From a personal experience, y was told that I never crawled, in stead started walking at age 8 – 9 month…they say that you must crawl before you walk because it’s supposed to finish the period and it helps your calf’s, to be prepared for the task of walking.
Because of this I have weak calf’s and a high risk of ankle injury.
