Yes, you could get them later if you are exposed to them (get near someone who has them during their contagious stage). They are more damaging if you get them as an adult. You might ask your doctor if you can get a vaccination for them or what recommendation he/she would make for your protection.
Don't wait, the sooner the better.

You may get chicken pox and you may not. Shingles are the same family as Chicken Pox but NOT the same.
There is a vaccine that you can get to help prevent Chicken Pox now so it may be worth it to get it. Especially since the older one gets the worse the outbreak may be. So if you want to be on the safe side I would get the vaccine.

YOU COULD GET SHINGLES WHICH ARE PAINFUL... I HAD THE CHICKEN POX EARLY AGE AND STILL CAUGHT THE SHINGLES IN LATER LIFE , ITS BOTH THE CHICKEN POX VIRUS !

Well you might have gotten vacinated for it but you shoudl check because the older you get the worst it is. ESpecially if you're really old. But yea you can still get it.
