Muslims only are permitted in Mecca, under penalty of death.

Note: I base this on information I heard in a class on Islam back in college. I do not mean this to be offensive, but I had heard that a non-Muslim was found in Mecca and was beheaded. This is supposedly enforced by the Saudi government.

Ok first Mecca is a holy city to Muslims as is Medina and another city in Palestine. Jerusalem I believe is the third holy city. Two the ritual is the Hajj or pilgrimage which is the 5th pillar of Islam which means that every adult Muslim male and female must do at least once in their lifetime if they are physically and financially able to do that and it is mostly done in December. Third a non Muslim can not enter Mecca as there is no way for that to happen because the Saudi officials make sure that does not happen. Women who do not travel with their husbands do need permission from their husbands in order to do Hajj. Basically Muslims perform a series of rituals during the Hajj. For more information watch the video "Inside Mecca" from National Geographic. I am Muslim by the way. And we are not worshipping the Qibla. The Qibla is the big black clothed building in the center of Mecca and is the House of ALLAH.

Mecca is for Muslims only, any non-Muslim caught there would more than likely be thrown (probably even literally) out.

The following is an excerpt outlining the rules and regulations regarding non Muslims visiting Mecca and the consequences

"Charles L. Glatz of the U.S. Embassy in Saudi Arabia researched the question, “Are there any exceptions and what is the punishment for
visiting Mecca and being caught as not being a Muslim?” and the reply received is the following:

As far as the rules and regulations of Saudi Arabia, there are no exception for non-Muslims to visit Mecca. Only Muslims and converts to
Islam may visit Mecca. In order to cross from Jeddah to Mecca, a person must show Saudi police that he or she is Muslim. Proof is a
Saudi igama (residency permit), which lists ones religion, or a hajj or umrah visa.

If a person is caught who is not Muslim and managed to enter Mecca, he or she will be arrested and held in detention. On extensive
investigation, the Minister of Interior decides the punishment based on a recommendation of a Shari'a judge. There is no set punishment for
this offense.

Of course, this dodges the question of a death penalty but as there is no set penalty and the death penalty is so common in Islam, this is a
possible outcome..."

It isn't allowed for any non-Muslims to enter Mecca. I'm not sure what the Saudi government would do to him if he were caught, but the pilgrims would be in Ihram and wouldn't act in a violent way at all, for fear of ruining their hajj.

Yeah, the Saudi government agents are pretty crazy people. I don't trust those guys. I don't recommend trying it.

I don't know why some fellow muslims are so intolerant, but I were the first to see him I'd quickly get him outta town, for everyone's good. I respect the Saudi Goverments decision of not allowing non-muslims to enter Mecca, but to kill him just wouldn't be right. The Holy Qur'an says so.

Islam calls for peace not war.

No one will try to kill him, because there are alot of white Muslims in Mecca

The thing is, there's a check point outside Mecca and they don't allow non-Muslims in (even non-Muslim Arabs are now allowed)

but as I said, if he manages to go in, nothing will happen to him, and if he is observed, the worst that would happen to him is him being ejected from the city

Be escorted out of the city by security if he got through the checkpoint.

If this isn't a hypothetical question, there is a beautiful documentary on Hajj filmed by a Muslim that clearly shows everything that happens. I can't recall for the life of me what its called, but if anyone knows of it?

No one would try to kill him. Unless he made an *** of himself and started preaching or something, he'd be ignored.

Paranoia will destroy ya.
