I believe that when saying "Military Ties" it is usually used when talking about two or more countries. It means that our militaries are buddies. It's hard to explain. Marines do this big training exercise in Thailand every year with the Thia military therefore, the US and Thailand have tight military ties.

Well, it could mean the black tie you wear with the class A uniform, but more than likely, it means the ties you form with other military brothers and sisters while on active duty. When you serve in the Military, the things you all have to go through together make you a very close part of those people you are with. Tough times bind people together, times in the Military are some of the toughest. The people you are with are as close to you as the closest family. those "ties" last forever, and they stay strong through the years.
