Could you be referring to a Wheatstone bridge or a Wien bridge? I never heard of a Wilson bridge and couldn't find such a reference on the web. Here's all you need to make either a Wheatstone bridge (ref. 1) or a Wien bridge (ref. 2).
You can test the circuit by applying a voltage (DC for Wheatstone, AC for Wien), connecting a DC or AC meter at the point where a meter is indicated in the diagrams, and checking that you can adjust the bridge for a null.
