muscle cars as we know them are rear wheel drive, v8, two doors. Oh yeah, and strictly American. sure, there are now two door, rwd, v8's from foreign mfg's. But a muscle car was and always will be rwd, two door, v8....oh yeah, and strictly American. so the answer is yes, as will the new camaro, and challenger.

Muscle cars are intermediate size cars with large displacement engines, IE: Chevelle SS, Pontiac GTO, Plymouth Roadrunner, Mercury Cyclone, Olds 442. Pony cars are smaller vehicles with a medium or large displacement engine, IE: Mustang, Camaro, Barracuda, Nova SS, Javelin.

i believe only chevy made real muscle cars dodge may have made a few, but no not the ford mustangs .
