i hate speaking on the phone too, i favor texting lol yet what's the worst which could take position? he won't be able to see you so as that would want to make you extra comfortable...if he's your boyfriend, then i surely do not see the placement, purely call him - compared to he's a stranger, he purely needs to listen on your voice and comprehend that you'll be able to choose too with out him making you do it...initiate small - a jiffy of convo "hello, how became your day, what did u do immediately? what are your plans for the day after today or the weekend?" and he will do something else, then if it really is a sluggish convo, say you would possibly want to bypass do hw or help your mom or something

I think it's better than OK!! From a parents view point, your exactly what we like to see!!! If my daughter had a boyfriend like you, I would encourage her to keep you around. As long as she wasn't having sex with you!! LOL
