Don't worry, you won't look like an idiot. Tell him/her your last menstrual period and explain the irregularity.

He/she will give you a due date based on a 28 day cycle. This will most likely be around June 24, 2007.

You will get another due date when you get your first ultrasound, which measures the long bones of your baby and determines a gestational age. He/She may rely on this instead, as your periods are irregular.

You won't look like an idiot. Just carefully give your Dr. all the information you DO have.

By your dates, you are about 11 weeks, due June 24th.

Lots of women have irregular cycles. Maybe you are a little less than 11, because you ovulate unpredictably. Was your last period a normal period? What about the one before that? Recent use of hormonal contraceptives? All that helps.

Your GP will probably repeat your pregnancy test and refer you for OB care. The Obstetrician will do an exam to see if your uterus is the right size for your dates. If it, maybe a little smaller than expected for 11 weeks, they'll get an ultrasound to see how far along you are.

Ultrasound is accurate within about half a week for predicting your due date.

Get them to give you some vitamins and eat fruits and veggies!

Congratulations!

don't even worry about what the GP thinks - they see this kind of thing all the time. it's not unusual for women to have irregular periods, and not know how far along they are. just tell her or him that you've had positive pregnancy tests, and you want to confirm that. the GP can tell you what to do next.

there are other tests your doctor can do to find out how far along you are in your pregnancy.

congrats and warmest wishes!!

You won't look like an idiot. Your dr can do an ultrasound to measure how far along accuratly. Just tell the dr that you are irregular and your last period was on sept. 17th. Congrats! and prepare for the sickness.

Your due date is just an estimate. So don't worry about looking like an idiot, i didn't even know the date of my last period when I went to the doctor for my test. You can go for an ultra sound which will measure the size of the baby, They will be able to estimate your due date from that. Good luck with everything

You won't look like an idiot. Many people's periods are infrequent. That is actually very valuable information on your hormones anyway so don't hide it. The date will be determined by many things including how much weight you are gaining and as you get along your uterus will be measured form your pubicbone upwards to the top of your uterus. The # of centimeters corresponds to the weeks. Happy birthing and congradulations.

My periods were very irregular and I had no idea when my last period was. So when I found out I was pregnant they did an ultrasound to better try and pinpoint it for me. Don't worry about feeling stupid they dont think anything of it.

Very easy my friend. ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS COUNT 14 DAYS BACK from the last day of your period.EVEN IF YOU WERENT CONCEIVING IT IS STILL COUNT as your pregnancy term.therefore you are roughly 10 weeks pregnant my friend

Well, just tell your GP what you have said here. They will be able to more accurately pinpoint the due date with this information.
