Are you referring to the Kerry Blue Terrier? If so, this breed actually comes from Kerry, Ireland.

Only blue or grey? Maybe a wiemininer (sp), however they are not a giant breed, how about a Great Dane, but they come in different colors. Although I know most breeds, some are rare, so tell me I would like to know the answer to your puzzling question.

There is the Irish wolf hound, also the smaller version the Russian wolf hound. the Irish is that biggest of the two, they are wire haired though. You did not mention the hair type, if it is short haired and wrinkly it could be a neopolian mastiff as well. I am leaning towards the Irish wolf hound though. it stands over 6ft when on it's hind legs.

The only giant breed I can think of that is dark blue or gray is the Neapolitan Mastiff although they come in black as well.

. I believe it is called a Russian wolf hound I don`t know when it was bread. But it was bread to protect the Russian people from the Russian wolf. When they where out taking care of there herd`s of sheep or cattle or what ever herd`s they had.

Because of the color I would say a Weimaraner, but I don´t see them as giant dogs.
