There is no understanding the point. All you'll get is jibberish that goes round in circles with lots of bible quotes. I believe it's about creating alot of drama so that no one notices the money issues, control issues, abuse, and killing that happens in the name of god.
Hey! Look over there!

Yes, I can see the dilemma. It was Jesus death on the cross that RECONCILED God and Mankind, estranged by the first sin. The first thing to remember for you and me and everyone else is that this is an Article of Faith. Christians believe this as the "God's honest truth" (no pun intended) I don't have any real facts to give you any more than the Catholic Church or Protestants do, but I do believe that Jesus is The Christ. That means Savior. He is rereferred to as the Savior of the world, and that is why we celebrate His birth on CHRISTmas(literally meaning Christ's Mass) God sent His only begotten Son, Jesus, The Christ, to make AT-ONE-MENT(atonement) for all the sins of Mankind---ie: ORIGINAL SIN "The First Sin of Adam & Eve".( If you don't believe in the Bible or the teachings of the church on Christ, you won't believe all of this anyway!)> BUT---Because of THE FIRST SIN, Jesus was born, lived & taught God's law, set the example for behavior, and then offered HIMSELF up as The Only Sacrifice to His Heavenly Father in AT-ONE-MENT (Literally meaning "to make one" or whole again) No one else could achieve the retribution that God demanded. Only Jesus was born without Original Sin(The first sin of Adam & Eve) this is the reason CHRISTians get baptized-to take away the stain of original sin each of us is born with. If Christ didn't die for us, then the gates of heaven would have remained closed to everyone. It was His pure sacrifice to God that opened heaven so that we all could be saved when we die. I know this is very confusing but if you'd really like to understand a bit better, I suggest going to the library to get some books by Christian authors. It might shed a little light on a most complicated idea and belief. I hope you do read up. Best of luck to you. P.S. Pray on it too! That can help you as well.

Actually, Jesus the Son is fully God. God is Tri-Une. God is One God who is revealed in three Persons. The Father is fully God, the Son is fully God, and the Holy Spirit is fully God, but there is One God. Son of God means that He is the second Person of the Trinity, the Son. Jesus is God the Son, fully God. See: Hebrews 1:8, John 1:1, John 8:58, Colossians 2:9, etc. It was Jesus' body that died on the cross. Jesus wanted to die for our sins. Jesus said: "I am the Good Shepherd, I lay down My life for the sheep" and "I have the power to lay my life down and to take it up again". God is holy, and our sins have caused a separation between us and holy God, but God loves us and wants to have a relationship with us, so He took on flesh and became a sacrifice in our place so that we can be reconciled to Him if we put our trust in Jesus the Savior. Jesus lived the perfect life that we could never live, thus fulfilling the law perfectly in our place, then He died on the cross to pay for all of our sins as a subsitutionary sacrifice in our place, and rose again on the third day so that if we repent, and put our trust in Him as Lord and Savior trusting Him to save us by His grace alone, we will be saved, born again, and have an eternal relationship with God who loves us. "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him, shall not perish, but have everlasting life." -John 3:16 www.equip.org

Because there is no other way to heaven except that Jesus died for your sins (sin= to miss the mark; to be an outlaw outside of God's will), and that you believe and confess and repent that He did die for your sins. The Bible says not to rely on your own understanding, just believe. I know, it's too simple. If nothing God is all about simplicity (not simplistic).

the thing is that jesus was perfect, no faults, no sin. in jewish belief, it was common practice to sacrifice the best animal in your flock for the lord, or practically a tithe, this was done to show repentance and loyalty to lord because no human was perfect enough for salvation in god's eyes. jesus had to die on the cross as a sacrifice, the best human in the herd, as a sacrifice for past, present, and future sins, so that we wouldn't have to sacrifice anymore. jesus said "i am the way the truth and the light, and no one shall come unto the father except through me."

God, sent his son, Jesus, to die on the cross because it was necesary to allow us sinners to be able to ask forgiveness from God. Only Jesus's blood can cleanse us of our sins. And through his return to Heaven we can be redeemed also, and go to Heaven to be with God when we die.

Why do you think it all has to be about US??? Jesus went through the Passion for 'the Joy set before Him'. In God's Eyes, the reward is more than worth the cost.

John 3:16-17
For God so loved the world, that He gave his one and only son, so that whosoever believes in him, will not die, but have eternal life.
For the Son of Man came not into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. (NIV)
Romans 6:23
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

I'm a Muslim and I'm telling you there is nothing called someone die for the sins of others. there is nothing called mankind inherited the sin of Adam. Jesus was a great prophet Jews tried to kill him but he was saved by God and ascended alive to heaven.
