Mmmm if the veggies were not over cooked, and they were only carrots and peas, I would not have minded.
But Brussels sprouts and broad beans eewwwww, and if we did not eat our tea, we would have the plate of cold food, put in front of the next morning for breakfast, if we ate it we could catch the bus, if we did not eat it we'd walk to school.
I vowed I would never ever do this to my children, and I have not. I can not eat broad beans or Brussels sprouts even as an adult.

She most certainly did. If I spit it out she put it back in my mouth. As a result I like anything and everything, with the exception of raw green peppers and they don't like me either.
When my children were little and I fixed something my husband didn't like I told him to eat just a little bite so my children wouldn't say, daddy doesn't eat it so why should I. He was very good about that.
When I was old enough to put the amount of food I wanted on my plate and didn't eat it all, I had to sit there and eat it all. I can't see anything wrong with this.

My mom pretty much did that with anything I had on my plate- even things I obviously hated with a passion(yes, peas are among them!!) But after a while, she lightened up some- especially if I took an extra helping of salad to compensate for the hated vegetable.

Yes, but luckily I liked peas. But, I hated a lot of other foods and I couldn't leave the table till i ate all of it. Using a napkin and hiding it helped me out, then go to the bathroom and flush it down the toilet.

Yes, I think that making children eat little green veggies is part of the job description for being a Mum. Good thing we had a dog who ate ANYTHING!

My father did. I do not like fish never have, I was afraid to eat my fish because it had bones in it and my father told me I could not leave the table until I ate it. I sat there until bedtime four hours later food untouched because I refused to eat it.

I was a very fussy kid and I think my mum was a little soft ( god love her). She never made me eat anything I didnt want and I recall eating mostly vegemite sandwiches (my fave!). However, I had an aunt who, when I had dinner with them, used to make me eat everything on my plate everytime! This was a big issue to me and I wouldn't want to eat there!!! NOW, I am a mother of three and I make them eat everything on their plate!Lol!! Even brussel sprouts! But they are better eaters for it, unlike me who tends to still have fears of certain foods!?

nope the big thing was to try one bite to see if I liked them. Truthfully, I liked peas so that wasn't an issue.
My husband and I decided to try to get my almost 3 year old to try everything... except brussel sprouts that we both hate.

We didn't have to eat them all but we did have to eat some.. so she only gave us small portions of everything.. therefore if we wanted more we could get it ..if we didn't like something it was less to throw away.
