We DID turn the other cheek.
The WTC was attacked once before, remember?
What about the Cole? Doesn't that count?
Then there were the marines killed in their barracks in Lebanon.
How many times are we supposed to take it? So far all we've done is encourage them to greater acts of terrorism by ignoring them. And if you will notice, they haven't hit us since we started hitting back. Sometimes the schoolyard bully has to get beaten to a pulp before he realizes that it's not a good idea to keep picking on the big guy.

You are misinterpreting the teachings of Jesus. God Himself commanded the people of Israel to wipe out nations in the Old Testament. The teachings of Jesus were for individual believers in their individual lives and were never intended to be applied in a national government setting. Those verses also do not apply to the death penalty or any sort of legal action against criminal acts.
And who are you to determine whether or not a person is a true Christian based on such an issue? Whether or not someone turns the other cheek or believes that Jesus would have done so in the case of 9/11 is a very trivial basis for you to be judging someone else's salvation or the state of their walk with God. My walk with the Lord is the most important thing in the world to me but I personally cannot agree with your misrepresentation of Jesus or these verses.

The USA is no longer a Christian-based society. We told Father God to get out of our society in 1963. Now it is only on the grace given to a remnant of true believers that the USA has not realized the full wrath of the broken covenant made by our founders with Almighty God. We are surprised that we have not had more trouble but realize that satan doesn't want to attack the so-called church very much. Christians are very luke-warm today just like satan wants them to be.

The commandment says "thou shalt not murder", not "kill" as the misinterpretation states. When Jesus said to turn the other cheek it was about being slapped, which was an insult in biblical times, not the wanton murder of over 3,000 innocent people. I don't think He particularly would have liked the idea of the murder of innocent people. I also think He would have been pretty glad when Russia and the US got involved in WWII, put to stop to the mass murder of not only Jews, but gypsies and countless others.
I think maybe you should actually read the bible before having the nerve to say what a true christian is.
Also, the US is not a christian-based society, its a democracy.

Look being a Christian and being Jesus are not necessarily one and the same.
Not everyone can be exactly like Jesus but they can still be Christian, sort of.
Christians believe that Jesus was perfect, but is there any Christian who would claim that he himself is perfect.
Besides the USA is not required to turn the other cheek. I'm a saint and I'm holy, I'm probably holier than you, so just listen to what I'm telling you.
PS: there is no God, but that doesn't prevent me from being holy. This is a big mistake the atheists make, they think just because there is no God they cant be holy. I'm living proof you can. I'm so holy I don't even know how holy I am.

I dont think the USA is a christian based society, it was before but i dont think it is any more. It is secular. So they didnt turn the other cheek.
Now they are in Iraq and looking for how to get out from the mess.
Nothing has been resolved because Osama is still free and Alqueda has given birth to hundreds or possibly thousands more cells after 9/11.
There actaullly is more terror now than ever before.

THe U.S.A. was sanctioned by God and conferred the sword through Him, and we DO NOT wield it in vain.
But what is a true Christian to you? Someone who just rolls over and takes it time and again? If you are a Christian (you sound like you know something), what was Paul's response when he was going to take the lash from the Romans?
At least you agree that America is ran on Christian principles.

No, that is not true. You are misinterpreting the verse. When Jesus said to turn the other cheek, He meant don't get revenge. There is a big difference between revenge and self-defense. Jesus wants us to love our enemies and try to make peace and share the gospel, but if we have to, we are allowed to defend ourselves. As I said, there is a big difference between revenge and self-defense. Revenge is God's job, but we are allowed to defend ourselves or someone else if we have to. We are morally obligated to defend others, for example, in World War II we were justified in defending the Jews and ourselves from the Nazis. www.equip.org

Naa, we took out a couple hundred thousand for every thousand they took out. It's a good start but many more to go! We need need to concentrate on the radical Muslims (nazi's) and not confuse them with the real Muslims. The real practicing Muslims will win along with the rest of the world in exterminating the radical Muslims.

The USA is NOT a Christian based society---------it is a society free for all religions. So, therefore, this question is unanswerable.
