How would you suggest I tell a gut that I went on one date with that I don't want to see him again? The first date went okay, so I have no particular reason for not wanting to see him again, except that I really don't feel he is right for me. It has to be in a nice way, becuase he is a friend of one of my best friends.

How about the truth? "Mike, I really think that you are a nice guy, and I had a good time on the date, but I really do not think that you are right for me as a boyfriend or potential mate/husband/lover."
Then you MIGHT add that you wouldnt mind being friends, or not, if you liked him as a person.

The kindest thing is tactful honesty. You need to be sensitive, but leave no doubt that you don't want to go out with him again. Just shoot straight, and tell him that you had a nice time, but that you just aren't feeling the chemistry. No harm, no foul.

Well i would just say listen i loved being ur friend! But ur not the one for me! And i hope u understand and all And i know this is gonna feel awkward and alll, but i really only have feelings for u as a friend, nothing more, please except that! your half way there. let him know that the date was good. You enjoyed yourself,but it was like being out with the family.there is really nothing wrong with him, just your looking for a soulmate and you don't think he is the one.

Please just be honest, when he asks you out again. If he does not ask you out again, he may feel the same way you do.
Please spare him that let's still be friends line. That is just not fair to the guy.
