why do i constantly feel a tightening sensation at the front of my neck?

You should definitely see your GP to rule out anything sinister. But try not to worry - that sounds like a classic anxiety symptom to me.

I get that sometimes, and it's extremely unpleasant and really feels like you're about to choke. You won't though, promise.

I have had a similar sensation where i feel that my throat is swelling and closing, i use to anxious and that made it feel worse, now i have learned to relax more and it seems to help if it persists get medical advice

Sounds like panic attack to me. Loosen clothing round your neck, deep breathe and try to relax. It should soon pass. If it does not then you should probably see a doctor about it and get a medical opinion....;

are you feeling anxious? nerves often affect the muscles of the throat. if not you need to go and get checked out by your doc in case there is some swelling there that may need treatment.

Could just be a nervous thing, try to stay calm and maybe you should have a check-up just to put your mind at rest.

Are you a smoker? You might have slight asthma. get to your Doctor or asthma nurse if your scared of doctors.
