you might benefit from cognitive behavioural therapy. talk to your doc and he should be able to refer you to one.

it just helps you to change the way you look at a negative thought, and think through some other more positive thoughts. you could try it for yourself.

write down a situation then how you felt about it. you can then try to write three alternatives that are more positive.

for eg, what i did, was write that in a meeting i thought that some of the others looked at me as though they hated me. to this my resonses could have been,
dont they always look like that? and yes they do with others as well as me!

they may well hate each other, and i have misinterpreted the atmosphere to be my fault!

and so on... life is too short to worry about these things, try to be positive in the face of adversity even though its so hard and you will find it gets easier.

good luck my friend..x

As corny as it sounds.........Start By realising that you can do or be anything you want, make a list of what would make you happy and research in how you can achive this. If it is love you are looking for, its out there. But most of all be positive, every cloud has a silver lining and no matter how down you feel, there could be the most exciting time of your life waiting round the corner for you. Nobody has the perfect life and we all have good and bad days, learn from your mistakes and the mistakes of others and the world is your oyster. Now go and have a beer and a joint and tommorrow is a new day! Night x

hi you
my advice is to go chat to your dr. i know its hard to admit you are feeling low (esp with comments like stop thinking bout yourself) but they are really helpful. they can refer you to a CPN (clinical psychiatic nurse) for a chat and can perscribe medication too.

otherwise take each day at a time. try and get out for a walk or other exercise each day and force yourself into situations were you have to socialise. doesnt have to be with peopole you know...join a class or committee or even chat to the person beside you on the bus. anything that gets you talking and out and about is a good thing.

also for every negative thing you say/think counteract it with three positives. when you think positive you feel positive.

Good luck :)

ah well. try to appreciate the things you have. they might not seem so great to you, but hey, im sure that you have a lot of great things in your life. for example: i had anorexia a few years ago. and i was like "hey, i have a shithous disease, nobody can help me, i will die, blah blah". but then, i saw that i had the best of cahnce as i had my family by my side, i had a great dr and all. and i thought of the ones who has no insuarence, thus has no chance to go to a dr. then i startyed to think about other diseases1 man, i was lucky to a disease which i could overcome with my own will.
lots of good things happen in our life, but we are too close to see them. take a step back and look at your life. and appreciate what you have.
easier said than done, i know.
but it works wonders...

we all get down from time to time that's normal, but whenever i am feeling low and generally down, i think of what i have achieved with my life and look around at what i have. i have a house, bills get paid, nice car, hubby and a beautiful little girl.
there are people around me who dont have half of what i have and are living on the bread line with very little.
theres always someone worse off than you, i work to live not live to work, think of something you want to achieve from your life if its buying something or that holiday you only ever dream of and put all your effort into achieving your goal.
i have felt like the world is against me in the past, but i thought if i don't help myself, nobody else will.

have a chat with your gp about some antidepressants and/or counsellling. i dont care what anyone says, mental illness, such as depression is an illness like any other not just someone feeling sorry for themsellves.

I felt the way you are feeling and nothing was going right for me. I went to the Dr. and got put on antidepressants and now my attitude is much better and things have gotten better for me.
